Response to Mayor Kelly’s Letter regarding the Authority and Process for Municipal Restructuring
Moved by Councillor F. McGee, seconded by Councillor Cziraky,
RESOLVED THAT the correspondence from John Gerretsen, Minister of Municipal Affairs and
Housing, in response to Mayor Kelly’s letter regarding the authority and process for municipal
restructuring be received;
THAT the Council of the City of Kawartha Lakes demand that the Province of Ontario honour
the results of the 2003 election as it pertains to the Minister’s Question;
THAT Council approves restructuring costs, the municipally funded portion to be at a minimal
cost not to exceed $75.00 per household for City of Kawartha Lakes residents; and
THAT the funding be a one-time cost.
