On a Summer Saturday in the heart of cottage country, with limited bodies and time frame, as well as vast amounts of land to cover - the de-Amalgamation petition blitzed the County on July 7th. The response, requests and calls were nothing short of overwhelming. There were over 1500 additional signatures added to the petition that will continue to make its way to Queen's Park.

VOCO was formed a little over a year ago, with monthly or bi-monthly meetings held to discuss local democratic issues and occasional Town Hall meetings. Out of necessity, these assemblies have now increased to larger, weekly get togethers open to every Voice in Central Ontario. Trying to deal with the growing requests from people for more meetings, more guest speakers, and just more action in general, all requests are recognized and VOCO will soon be putting together a regular newspaper column to be published in whichever papers will carry it. Any person willing to display their support of VOCO's fight for democratic government is encouraged to display a yellow ribbon on your house, your car, or even your person. These yellow ribbons will fly throughout Victoria County until the day that the Government listens to the people! The list of activities VOCO is working on is growing constantly and continually. With all the voices in unison, we will persist as long as it takes. Please remember-this is not a sprint, it is a marathon. Together we will make a difference!
